If cost is a major factor when choosing a Labradoodle or Goldendoodle, an F1 is a good
choice for you.  They are generally less expensive than the multigens, F2 or F1B,
although the shedding and allergy properties are less reliable.

If you determine that an F1 Labradoodle or Goldendoodle is an appropriate choice for
your family, I encourage you to contact local shelters, or check the doodle rescue and
rehome boards:

as a part of your search.  You may find the perfect pet for you and save a dog in the
process!

If you feel a rescue is not the right choice for your family, the next step is to research
breeders. Please do NOT buy a puppy at a pet store, many of those dogs in rescue were
bred by puppy mills.  Many pet stores are supplied by puppy mills, and by getting a dog
from a pet store, you are supporting that whole system.
